Evolution Of Video Games - Free Essay Example
Video Games have almost became a cultural phenomenon, expanding across all platforms and devices appealing to a wide range of audiences both young and old alike. Video games were originally intended to be a simple form of entertainment designed for children as a distraction like a normal toy. After years of evolution and advancements in designs they are used for multiple purposes other than simple entertainment and as a distraction. They are used to tell a rich and captivating story that almost physically puts the player in a characters shoes. For more beneficial reasons they offer a new way to advance peoples cognitive skills with puzzles and games that improve upon this. Video games have even evolved to a point where people have become more physically active as the games they play offer a sense of achievements and accomplishments. Video games is a form of entertainment that has rapidly evolved in each generation and has significantly impacted people cognitive skills and physical activities. What I Already Know/ Want to Know The first videogame ever made was a tennis game created by Physicist William Higinbotham on October in 1958. He created the tennis for two that allowed for two people to hit the tennis ball back and forth. Physicist William Higinbotham created the tennis game at the Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island in New York and continued to reinvent the game until he felt it was up to par with his expectations of how the game should be. Methods/How I Found My Information Video games have always been apart of my childhood when growing up because I just loved playing video games, but I did not know what the first video game ever made was so I looked it up. I searched up on google what the first video game ever made was and looked for information on who made the game, when they made the game, why they made the game and how to play the game. I did find the information I needed on one site but I also used other sides to gather more information. Video games have basically been apart of my life since the day I was born, It was always the best way for my dad to keep me quiet when I was younger in places I was always either scared or bored at being. Of course he regulated it so that I wouldnt become so addicted that I wouldnt be able to socialize but he let me play. They were simple Games that I would play on my Game boy such as mario sonic or pacman, with also simple objectives, run jump or both. What i would like to know more about video games is that what point did they take a significantly big leap to being simple fantasy Games to realistic immersive games that almost made you feel as if you were there? What I Discovered Video games are now a major factor of entertainment in our society with a fast pace expanding culture every single year as they are now (Byrne) an entrenched part of our cultures and routines. As video games continue to advance and evolve it continues to peak the interests of many individuals both young and old alike as as the average american game player is 31 years McCoy 3 old and 48 percent of those playing being women. (epstein) This is do to the creative element and the wide range of appeal that games offer to everyone. With the early invention of the wii and shortly Xbox Kinect, this allowed people and specifically families to come together and be active with one another in one setting. Motion sensors helped to track peoples movements and display them onto whatever game they were playing. This was great entertainment for even the old to be involved in. Video games really started to spawn in the 1970s but given the limits of computing range the original Atari 2600 Featured just 128 bytes of memory ( no kil, no mege, no giga) there was room for just one idea(epstein). Video Games have evolved tremendously over the last couple of decades from simple run and Jump games to games that put you into the real bloody intense battlefields of war. When the first video game was made it was a very simple tennis game, similar to the classic 1970s video game pong. (Byrne) This simple idea is believed to have sparked the minds of a thousand other future creators in developing games that mimic our world only with a couple of twists. There are literally stories out there that put you in the shoes of someone else similar to how an actor plays a part in a movie. Some games like Battlefield and Call Of Duty offer and horrific and intense experience in fighting in a war with hundreds of your comrades dying beside you experience One video Game in particu lar thats sets players up in a realistic scenario was That dragon, Cancer. The purpose of this game was to put people in a situation that some parents have gone through themselves and allow them a slight glimpse of what a common pain is gone through with a parent with a sick child. It was released on january 12, 2016 and was made by writer Amy Green and developed by Numinous Games. The whole idea of it was a game where you fill the shoes of parents Guiding their infant through terminalà cancer creating a games like this for players delivers them with a heavy emotional impact and if a player can say that they were invested emotionally the same way that a person is when watching a movie now shows that videogames are becoming more than what they were. There is a deeper meaning to most games that may not always be as clear to video players. Video gamesà has evolved from mindless playing to engrossing stories along the way. For instance, there is a game called The Last Of Us which is a horror game about zombies taking over. This game does a great job of telling a story because it shows what would have if zombies were to actually take over. In the game there is a guy who loses his daughter in a zombie outbreak and years later he has to look after this girl who reminds him of his daughter and it shows how distant and mean he is because he is still mourning the loss of his daughter. In the beginning of the game he is mean because he is upset that he lost his daughter so he is not very nice to the little girl but over time she does remind him of the time he used to be a father to his daughter and he grows love for her and selfishly sacrifices the fate of the world to save this little girl even though she needs to die to get the cure. Like movies, there are a wide range of different genres for video games some even based on existing properties like the horror syfy Aliens or the comedic movie such as, Deadpool. Deadpool was first a hero comedy movie that soon turned into a game because of how great the sells and reactions were to the movie. The movie is extremely funny because it is about a superhero who saves the way and tends to do stupid things as he does so. Video games can either have horror, comedy or drama like a movie. Instead of just watching these things play out in a movie you can literally decide on your own, where you canà take these characters that you already enjoy on your own adventure. Of course as all ourà technology advances with computers like the Apple two in 1977 most. On the other hand, people do enjoy playing video games, research has shown that video games cause people to do irrational things. Games that involve killing people, robberies and fighting glorify violence. There are many articles that talk about kids who play games such as Call of Duty where you shoot and kill people, encourage them to go out and actually kill people. There is an article that states, beginning in 1983 when U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop implicated violent video games as a leading cause of family violence, news stories about video games such as Death Race (allowing players to run over gremlins) (only sp) and Custers Revenge (with a naked Custer avoiding arrows to have sex with a Native American woman) have helped reinforce the idea that graphic violence in video games was potentially harmful. Although, some may think that violent video games causes people to do violent things, there are still other positive and influential games that are not violent that kids c an enjoy. Video games have evolved and changed the landscape and view of entertainment while generating thousands of new fans of the culture. Video game attract people of all ages because it is something fun to do after a stressful day and it keeps kids out of trouble. Not only are video games fun to play but they tell a story that people are able to relate to like Call of Duty, Madden 15 and 2k. These games are relatable because Madden is a game about football players, 2k is a game about basketball players and Call Of Duty is basically a reception on how war is. Overall, if games did not exist, there probably would be even more problems in the world because when kids are at home playing video games they are staying out of trouble. Video games have evenà evolved to a point where people have become more physically active as the games they play offer a sense of achievements and accomplishments. Can Video Games Cause Violence? Reflection piece When I first heard that we were doing a Five page paper that was also a research essay with a lot of added criteria that I have never done before in another essay, I was pretty bummed out about the idea because I thought we would Have to write about some random boring topic that I had some interest in writing about. How very fortunate for me that writing just about anything isnt the case for me and instead Im able to write my own paper based off of my own topic that I have to decided to pick. With this one research paper I was able to pick something that I am already curious and fascinated with and that was Video Games. It only made sense to write about something you love to play and be involved with. However I felt that I needed to find a better way to approach and write about this topic that seemed like playing video Games was beneficial to the audience thats reading my paper instead of just a paper talking about video Game. Starting and writing this essay was a little hard for me because I saw multiple ways to approach this paper. My first way of writing this paper was with talking about the history of video games and how they evolved from what they were to what they are now and how they have a mass entertainment audience bigger than ever before. Another way was talking about video games or specifically and how they went from a simple mindless child games to something that is considered an intricate art that is now praised for their story and design almost like a real movie. Im thankful I have been given the opportunity to write an essay based on a subject i really love playing and I hope to write something similar soon.

The Fate of Our Homeless Animals - 684 Words
In our world today, there are countless numbers of homeless animals. Every year, millions of animals are abused. Of those, thousands dont make it. According to the UN, 200 species go extinct every day. In the US alone, more than 1 million animals are run over every day. These are just some the cruel realities that exist in our current state. It may be too late for some, but there is still time, still hope for others. We need to invest more in preventing animal cruelty before itââ¬â¢s too late. We need to speak for those who dont have a voice of their own. First, animals that are used for our entertainment are inhumanely abused. When I was younger, I always dreamed of going to the circus. Seeing clowns and their funny acts, but most of all, I wanted to see the elephants do their amazing tricks. I never did get to go to the circus, but now I have lost all desire to. Once I learned what really was going on, I was outraged. Elephants are dragged away from their mothers shortly after birth and chained for up to 100 hours at a time. Tricks are learned by binding them with ropes, using bull hooks, and even electric shockers on their head. Orcas from SeaWorld are captured from their natural habitat, and those that arent taken away are killed. In the wild, orcas can live up to 100 years, but in captivity, the average age is only nine. Question: Evaluate the Effectiveness and your usefulness of the Learning Experience. Answer: Social media is believed to provide competitive advantage and a dynamic space in the business where more customers can be targeted for attaining business profitability (Arca 2012). Companies also incorporate social media for performing business functions that provides flexibility in business approaches. This topic attracts my attention more as people usually use social media for personal communication but businesspeople also utilizes this medium for more brand exposure, brand equity and direct feedback from the customers. Though there are many types of social media platform like Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr and Vimeo, I have selected only Facebook as my subject of research. I have found that Facebook also drives the customer engagement first; clear representation of the product portfolio, better communication with the clients that drives the customer loyalty and easy sharing of posts and video regarding the products also helps them to get knowledgeable abou t their business initiatives. All these factors drive the profitability of an organization as transparency is maintained very easily between the organization and employee. I have learned many things and also value this research experience as I came to know the business utilization of social media for attaining customer base. Apart from the knowledge regarding the research topic, I have learned about the process through which I can accomplish any other research. I have learned about the process required to conduct a research, collect the data for research and analyze the same for obtaining the desired outcome. Experience in the learning process I have learned to develop a literature review on a research topic, where I have compared the work of other research scholars on social media. This has helped me to understand the different research perspective of these scholars, which on the other hand develop my knowledge in wider direction. I will help apply this knowledge to Assess whether or not an organization effectively utilizes the social media for their business benefits. I believe that in future I can recommend by managing authorities regarding the beneficial utilization of Facebook. I have researched about Facebook and have found that the popularity of Facebook increased when it made a concerted effort to transition from desktop to mobile. Moreover, research also shows that peoples top choice for customer care is through the social media, which is followed by website, or live chat, e-mail, toll free number and customer care centre in physical stores (see Appendix, Figure 1). I have read about the benefits of social media concerning business for accomplishing the literature review. I have found that not only the younger millennial are associated with the use of social media but number of older millennial are also increasing day by day. One of the reasons for greater utilization of the social media especially the Facebook is its ability to personalize the message (Caruso 2016). The literature also allows me to obtain the knowledge that active organizations like fast food restaurants like Mac Donald Hundry Jack can upload their live video and images regarding their business approaches. In recent times, other social media can also get accessed through Facebook and this can be witnessed through ability of managing Instagram via the Facebook Inbox (Kaur 2016). However, my research topic also focuses on the negative issues in business caused by the using of social media. These issues are time intensiveness, trust, privacy and security issue, negative feedbacks, and the propagation of User-Generated Content (UGC) (Kim and Eunju Ko 2012). I have also learned that since, the impact of social media can be seen in real-time, any negative comments can diminishes the brand reputation among the community irrespective of the genuineness of the users comments. In order to complete my research; I have developed a hypothesis that is usage of Facebook for business is significantly related to the restaurant business growth. I have read other research papers on research methodology and have selected the most appropriate research techniques through which desired research result could be obtained. In this research I have also formulated primary questions that is major impacts of using social sites (Facebook) for social marketing on internal and external publics and the food business. The secondary research questions are Effects of using Facebook on the net sales of the food business and critical parameters and suggestion that would be taken into account while using Facebook for marketing especially for food business. I have selected descriptive research as I am presenting the impact of Facebook on the organizational performance of fast food restaurants by taking accurate information. The business research methods have helped me to evaluate the ob tained research data quantitatively. I have read that research data can be analysed through qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. Though qualitative analysis helps to gain the result and scenario of the previously done research but suffered from inaccuracy. On the other hand quantitative data analysis presents the situation of the selected organization accurately through the opinion given by the research respondents. I do not only selected the employee or the customers as the respondents but I have selected customers, employees and managers so that through research question I can obtain specific research result that shows that Facebook has actually impacted positively in the business growth of McDonalds Hungry Jack. Usefulness of theresearch in learning process I have compared three journal articles that is also supported by other research works and highlighted the potential advantages and disadvantages of social media especially Facebook in a growth of a business. Some of the gaps that was found in these research are the actual cause behind unsatisfactory comments not always clear as users only depicts their initial feelings (Kwok and Yu 2013). Moreover, the health impact on the users is also not included in any of these researches. Moreover, the right way of utilizing the social media is also not discussed by any of these research scholars. All these gaps will be addressed in this research through the formulated research questions so that my research can provide a different perspective regarding the use of social media in the business growth. This knowledge made me learn about other details like how businesspeople of other organization uses the social media and I have found that in recent times, consumers learn about products on Pinterest , Facebook and Instagram. Even these products are sold to on Facebook and Twitter. Another important issue that I have found during the research is that social media provide ease in communication but incorporation of this strategy ignores the employee training in proper using of Facebook or other social media. Application of this learning in future I can say that all the work is preceded systematically. The first assignment is to formulate a literature review that compares some of the research work on the topic that is advantages and disadvantages of social media in business growth especially in fast food restaurants like McDonalds. I have learned to compare the arguments illustrated in the research work of other scholars. This will help me in future to finding out gaps in between two or more research works that is based on similar topic. However, I have utilized this knowledge in finding appropriate gaps that on the other hand help me to develop the appropriate primary and secondary research questions. I have also planned for a timeframe to complete the accurate research. All these knowledge and information will help me to conduct research on other topic in my academic journey accurately and efficiently. The Rabinnovich Article Titled Seven Wars And A Peace Treaty, gives A C
The Rabinnovich article titled 'Seven Wars and a Peace Treaty',gives a chronological background of wars made between Arabs and Israeli's after the birth of Israeli state. I: First War;1948-1949 The Israeli's reffered this war as the war of Independence. It had two distinct phases. It first begun in 1947 after UN resolution on the partition of Palestine. The resolution was accepted by the Jewish community, but Arabs rejected. The result was a civil war.Until May 15, 1948 th two feuding communities tried to predispose the outcome of the full-fledged strife that was bound to folow te evacuation of British forces. As a result, much of fighting was mainly over the control of roads and the mixed cities. After Israeli's declaration of independence,Egypt,Lebanon,Iraq,Syria and Jordan invaded Palestine to help Palestinian Arabs. This war lasted eight months.Israel Defence Forces (IDF) a formal army, fought with 5 arab states armies. By December 1948,it was clear that Israel had won the war.Egyptian army was advanced well into Sinai.Lebanese army was pushed back to its borders and Israelis captured part of South Lebanon.Syrian army was forced to retreat to a line corresponding,to the pre 1948 international boundary. Those zones became demilitarized. The war ended with Jordan in control of what became West Bank.Iraqi army played a minor role,ts major role was pushing the Arab League to intervene in the war. But how could Israel succeed? It enjoyed the benefit of coherent leadership, whose impact was magnified by David Ben-Gurion's ability to integrate military and politiical elements into comphrensive strategy.Israel was predicted on social and political structures of its own long before.Later in the war,it obtained arms and turneits early military disadvantages into advantages.Soviet assistance to Israel was one reflection of the international dimension of the war.By helping Israel,Moscow hoped to disturb the status quo. In the end of the war,Israel had larger area than the UN partition solution had reaffirmed. So Palestine refugee problem was created. It was humuliating for Arabs. 2. THE SINAI-SUEZ CAMPAIGN WAR;OCTOBER 1956 1950's the antiagonism of the states was expressed in the means of politic, economics and military acts. The Arab boycott, the closure of Gulf of Tiran and Suez Canal to Israel shipping can be shown as such examples. Arabs designed a full-scale war to undo the consequences of 1948-1949 war and destroy Israeli state. For Israel, it would be a limited war, just to stregethen its position and anticipate Aon an arab attack. In the mean time Egypt was growing to be a regional power under the rule of Nasser, who was a pan-Arabist leader,a friend of Soviet Union,It was the firestarter of struggles against Israel. There were waves of raids organized by Palestinian groupings from Gaza Strip and West Bank against Israel.Nasse created a tripartite military pact among Egypt,Syria and Jordan. Nationalization of Suez canal and Britain's evacuation from the place increased the influence of Egypt over Syria and Jordan.Nasser's attack on the remnants of of Britain and France's colonial empires had an important effect too.So France and Israeli alience was formed.Briatin and France wanted to save their position in the region. So In Ocober 1956,in collusion with Britain and France,Israel attacked Egypt. Iasrael believed its was waging a defensive war,Arabs were becoming belligerent. So she decided to launch the Sinai campaign,to reach Suez Canal,to destroy Egyptian Army in the Sinai and to capture Sharm el Sheikh, the point at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula dominating the Tiran strait.By reaching the Suez Canal, they would pave the way for the Britain and France to launch their own military operation. Although they were thwarled by USA and SU, Israel evacuated the Sinai and the Gaza Strip in 1957( later in return for security arrangements made by the Eisenhower adminitration.) Nasser turned this military defeat into political victory.Sinai was to be demilitarized and to be held by a limited Egyptian power in case of any surprise attack. Also,UN forces were to be settled in the Gaza Strip, along Sinai and Sharm el-Sheikh. This war showed Israel's impressive military capability,it contributed to the consolidation of its regional and international standing. But Nasser did not take any lessons,he started another war.He rested on the advantage of an Egyptian and arab militay build up,a sufficiant measuere of Arab cooperation to permit the formation of a single arab around Israel and Israel's international isolation. 3. THE SIX DAYS WAR;JUNE 5-10 1967 Soviet Union felt USA was trying to topple Syrian Baath Party regime and isolate

Characteristics of a Business Partnership
A partnership is a voluntary association between the partners that is based on a contract. The life of a partnership is limited by agreement or by the death of incapacity of a partner. Normally, each partner can act as an agent of the others partners and commit the partnership to any contract within the apparent scope of its business. All partners in a general partnership are personally liable for all the debts of the partnership. Limited partnerships include one or more general partners plus one or more (limited) partners whose liabilities are limited to the amounts of their investments in the partnership. The risk of becoming a partner results in part from the fact that partnership characteristics include mutual agency and unlimited liability. The initial investment of partnership assets is recorded by debiting the assets contributed at the fair market value and crediting the partnersââ¬â¢ capital accounts. A partnershipââ¬â¢s profits or losses are allocated to the partners according to the terms of the partnership agreement. The agreement may specify that each partner will receive a given fraction, or that the allocation of profits and losses will reflect salary allowances and/or interest allowances. When salary/ or interest allowances are granted, the residual profit or loss usually is allocated equally or on a stated fractional basis. When a new partner buys a partnership interest directly from one or more of the existing partners, the amount of cash paid from one partner to another does not affect the total recorded equity of the partnership. The recorded equity of the selling partner (s) is simply transferred to the capital account of the new partner. Alternatively, a new partner may purchase an equity interest in the partnership by investing additional asset in the partnership. When this occurs, part of the new partnerââ¬â¢s investment may be credited as a bonus to the capital accounts of the existing partners. Also, to gain the participation of the new partner, the existing partners may give the new partner a bonus whereby portions of the existing partnerââ¬â¢s capital balances are transferred to the new partnerââ¬â¢s capital account. When a partnership is liquidated, losses and gains from selling the partnership assets are allocated to the partners according to the partnership profit ââ¬â and ââ¬â loss ââ¬â sharing ratio. If a partnerââ¬â¢s capital account has a deficit balance that the partner cannot pay, the others partners must share the deficit in their relative profit and loss sharing ratio.
